ABOUT US
In the summer of 2008, a member of another local SHRM chapter recognized the need for a new chapter to serve the Northwest Metro-Atlanta area. To gauge interest, a series of emails were sent to at-large SHRM members, inviting their thoughts and feedback on the idea. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and soon after, a group of dedicated HR professionals began meeting to explore the creation of a new network for Human Resource professionals in the area. The goal was to foster connections, share knowledge on HR-related topics, and provide professional development opportunities.
In August 2009, the founding officers of this new association applied for chapter status with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The application was accepted, and the association officially became the Allatoona SHRM Chapter. Since then, our chapter has grown and continues to provide valuable support to HR professionals through membership, programs, and activities focused on advancing HR management practices and professional development.
Our diverse membership spans a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, services, education, recruitment, healthcare, green technology, non-profit organizations, insurance, construction, and consulting, to name just a few. Allatoona SHRM members support businesses throughout the counties of Bartow, Cobb, Cherokee, and Paulding, and are committed to strengthening HR practices and fostering a strong professional community.
